Try the open gateway with your own agent.
Paste one URL into ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or any MCP agent. Shop a real dealer's demo inventory through eight simulated vendors, hand off consent without sharing personal data, and watch every call on a live session page.
https://gateway.automotivemcp.ai/mcpStreamable HTTP, no sign-in. The first dealer is Castle Kia of McHenry. This demo runs on the open AutomotiveMCP gateway, hosted by PromptGraph. Demo data, not an offer; every write is a sandbox and nothing reaches the dealer.
Connect
ChatGPT
- Settings, Apps and Connectors, Advanced: turn on Developer mode.
- Create a connector, paste the endpoint, choose No authentication.
- Start a new chat and enable it. After the tool list changes, refresh the connector and start a new chat.
Claude
- Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector.
- Paste the endpoint and leave the OAuth fields empty. The sign-in choice cannot be changed later.
- Enable it in a new chat.
Cursor
- Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, then reload.
{
"mcpServers": {
"automotivemcp-gateway": {
"url": "https://gateway.automotivemcp.ai/mcp"
}
}
}Claude Code
- Run this once in a terminal.
claude mcp add --transport http automotivemcp-gateway https://gateway.automotivemcp.ai/mcp
Any MCP agent
- Point it at the endpoint over Streamable HTTP with no auth. Both the 2026-07-28 and 2025-11-25 revisions work.
- The OpenAI Responses API, the Anthropic Messages API, VS Code, Gemini CLI and MCP Inspector all connect. The gateway's own page has a snippet for each.
npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector@2.9.0 --cli https://gateway.automotivemcp.ai/mcp --transport http --method tools/list
Every snippet, including the Responses and Messages API request bodies, is on the gateway’s connect page.
What to try
In this order, in one chat. It is the same story the demo video tells.
- 01 Shop
Find me a hybrid SUV under $40k at Castle Kia of McHenry, and show me the link to watch.
Real cars from the store's listings, and a watch link. Open it.
- 02 Budget
What can I get for about $450 a month with $3,000 down?
The inventory feed and the payments desk light up together.
- 03 Offers
Any 0% APR or lease offers on a Sportage right now?
Two offer providers answer in parallel and merge: 2 of 2 providers answered.
- 04 Trade and payment
I owe $9,000 on a 2020 RAV4 with 52,000 miles. What would that Sportage cost a month, cash, finance or lease?
A trade range, payoff and equity, then three quotes. Each figure is signed by the vendor that made it.
- 05 Send to the dealer
Send this to the store and schedule a test drive for me Saturday.
The gateway stops and sends you a consent link. Pick a fictional persona, type the code, tick what to share. One sealed receipt per vendor you allow: the CRM, plus the chat desk if you allow texts. Then the lead and a Saturday test drive land in the sandbox inbox, NOT SENT.
- 06 Revoke
Click Revoke on the session page, then ask the agent to read the lead back.
Every token greys out, and the agent's next call fails: access revoked by the shopper.
- 07 A new tool
Open the dealer view, connect the service scheduler, then ask: schedule an oil change for me for my 2021 Sorento.
A new lane appears, the operator is notified with no ticket, and the scheduler schedules the appointment under its own receipt.
Every result carries a watch link
Open it beside the chat. Each tool call lights up the vendors that answered it, with their latency, the token each one got (a different pseudonymous id per vendor), what each one saw, and the consent receipts. The Revoke button lives there too. Session pages are private links, kept 7 days.
Connect a tool yourself
The dealer decides which tools connect. In the sandbox dealer view, pick one from the catalog or paste its MCP endpoint, approve what it may do, and it is live on the next tool list. The host is told automatically. No ticket.
What is real, what is sandbox
- Store facts and inventory
- A dated snapshot of the store's public listings and photos. Not a feed from the dealer's systems.
- Manufacturer offers
- Published regional programs with their end dates and disclosures. The store confirms eligibility.
- Specials
- Marked SAMPLE. Never the store's own.
- Trade values and payments
- Illustrative: a range, not an offer; payments are estimates, not an offer of credit.
- Shoppers
- Fictional personas with example.com addresses and 555 numbers. Nobody types real contact details.
- Leads, test drives, service appointments, messages
- Recorded on the session and marked NOT SENT. No email, text, CRM post or webhook exists in the code.
Consent receipts follow section 9, which is normative. Federation (section 11) and delegated identity (section 12) are draft proposals; the demo runs them to find the gaps, not to claim conformance.
Plug your own tool in
A vendor, or a dealership’s own developer, scaffolds a member, runs the member probe and registers it with the dealer’s approval. Point your coding agent at llms.txt and it has everything it needs.
Get agent-ready.
Dealers join free and find out which vendors are ready. Vendors ship an MCP and get listed. Builders get open tooling and a working demo to build against today.
