What this website and the AutomotiveMCP demo collect, why, who receives it, and how long it is kept.

Who we are

AutomotiveMCP (“we”) publishes the open AutomotiveMCP standard. We run this website, automotivemcp.ai, and a public demo of the standard: the AutomotiveMCP Dealer Demo app in ChatGPT, the demo gateway at gateway.automotivemcp.ai, and the demo dealer site at automotivemcp.ai/demo/castle-kia. The demo gateway is hosted by PromptGraph. Castle Kia of McHenry is the demo store. Questions about this policy: automotivemcp.ai/contact or hello@automotivemcp.ai.

Forms on this website

  • Contact form. Your name, email address and message, used to answer you.
  • Applications (Join and Get involved). Your name, email address, organization, the kind of organization and your message, used to review your application and reply. We also add your email address to our updates list.
  • Newsletter. Your email address and, if you pick one, the group you belong to (for example dealer or vendor), used to send AutomotiveMCP updates.

Form emails are delivered through SendGrid: your submission goes to our team inbox, you may receive a confirmation email, and the updates list is kept in SendGrid. Before we accept an email address we check that its domain can receive mail. You can unsubscribe from any updates email, or ask us to remove you.

Analytics and visitor identification

On automotivemcp.ai we use Google Analytics to see which pages are used and which forms are submitted (the name of the form, not what you typed). We also use RB2B, a visitor identification service that may match a visit to a business profile, such as a LinkedIn profile, so we can follow up with people and companies interested in the standard. Neither runs on demo session pages (automotivemcp.ai/demo/s/), and neither runs inside the ChatGPT app.

You can block both by blocking cookies and scripts for this site in your browser, or with Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on for Google Analytics. Contact us and we will delete any record of your visit that we hold.

The demo

The demo is a sandbox. Vehicle listings, prices and manufacturer programs come from a dated snapshot of one store’s public website listings and published programs. Trade values and payments are illustrative estimates. Nothing is an offer, and no lead, message, test drive, service appointment or purchase reaches a real dealer.

For each demo session, the demo gateway records:

  • The tool calls and their results, for example “search new hybrid SUVs under $40,000”, so they can be shown at the session’s watch link. Phone numbers and email addresses found in tool calls are removed before anything is stored.
  • Technical data: the calling app’s user agent (its first 200 characters), a keyed hash of the IP address (the IP address itself is not stored) and a session code.

The demo does not need your name, phone number, email address, home address, or any payment or credit information, and it does not ask for them. Steps that would share contact details with a dealer, such as sending a lead or scheduling a test drive or service appointment, use fictional personas in this sandbox. Please do not enter real personal information.

  • ChatGPT. When you use the app in ChatGPT, OpenAI sends the demo gateway the tool calls the model makes for you. We do not receive your ChatGPT account details or the rest of your conversation. OpenAI’s privacy policy covers your use of ChatGPT.
  • The chat on the demo dealer site. Your messages go to the OpenAI API to write the answers, and the tool calls it makes are recorded like any other demo session.
  • Dealer sign-in. The sandbox dealer sign-in uses a demo address and an on-screen code. It creates no real account and sends no email.

Who can see a session

Anyone with a session’s watch link can see that session’s calls and results. Session pages are kept out of search engines. Share a watch link only with people you want to see it.

How long we keep it

  • Demo sessions and their technical data are deleted automatically 7 days after the session’s last call. We may keep a few sessions longer as public examples.
  • Form submissions and the updates list are kept while we need them for the purposes above, or until you ask us to delete them.

Who receives it

  • SendGrid delivers form emails and keeps the updates list.
  • Google Analytics and RB2B measure and identify visits to this website, as described above.
  • OpenAI runs the chat on the demo dealer site, and sends us tool calls when you use the app in ChatGPT.
  • PromptGraph hosts the demo gateway and its session records.

We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or unsubscribe at any time: automotivemcp.ai/contact or hello@automotivemcp.ai. To delete a demo session before its 7 days are up, send us its watch link.

Children

This website and the demo are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. See also the terms of use.
